DAVID ATKINSON, BCAe
The Caroline Chisholm School was first planned in 2002 and was needed for the growing community in South Northamptonshire. David joined the governing body when the school was just a proposal. With David’s support and endeavour, the school has grown to become and popular and successful school with 1,917 students aged between 4 and 19. David was there to support when they launched the brand new Sixth Form in 2007.
Additionally, David supports and volunteers for the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust. His professional role with the County Council brought him into regular contact with the service and when he retired he continued his support as a volunteer.
David has no personal gain for helping and no family connections to the school, his only link being that he lives in the community. He has helped countless young people over many years to become better musicians and to participate in a wide variety of musical events at home and abroad. At Caroline Chisholm School he enabled a new school to flourish and to be a place where learning is valued and where children are encouraged to strive for success.
