22 year-old Jonathan is involved in a range of initiatives helping many different communities. While much of his work has a national reach he also volunteers widely within his local community. He volunteers at Croft Roman Villa to ensure the public are able to learn more about the history of the local area. He also volunteers to lead local ‘Short Break’ groups which provide activities for young disabled children and breaks for their parents and careers.

Jonathan is a future trainee solicitor at law firm Reed Smith and the first to be open about being autistic when applying. He is extremely committed to the firm’s Disability Task force – helping them recruit six disabled people as lawyers over 2014-15.

Jonathan is the first autistic Chair of ‘Ambitious about Autism’ and personally sourced and edited a booklet on real experiences of autism in the workplace. He has allowed ‘Ambitious about Autism’ to use the booklet to lead their ‘Employ Autism’ campaign. He is also an autism ambassador for ‘Disability Confident’, and sits on the Parliamentary Commission on autism as both professional and self-advocate, writing reports to encourage the government to tackle autism and learning disability issues.

Jonathan also writes informative blogs about living with autism, some of which have been published by influential media, enabling them to reach wide and powerful audiences.
