LES HEYHOE, BCAv
Known as the ‘Man of Many Millions’ in Hampshire, Les has raised over £10 million for charitable and worthy causes.
His relentless pursuit of caring for others less fortunate than himself, and the dedication and devotion he has given to voluntary fundraising, together with his charm and character has seen him raise much-needed funds for a myriad of causes. His help extends beyond fundraising alone, often helping to organise events, offer best practice to charities, and advising on how to sustain fundraising initiatives. At a local level, he has been instrumental in raising funds to enable a lift to be fitted in the home of a 13-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer.
He has also raised funds for a sensory garden for a local charity. Over a ‘career’ of fundraising spanning four decades, 60-yearold Les is ‘renowned and respected’ by all who know him. In the early 70’s he raised his first £1 million through collecting aluminium ring pulls from drink cans – as a serving Royal Navy seaman, he encouraged the whole Royal Navy to engage. His efforts have been life-changing for many.
