Baroness Wilcox, Monica Russell, Dame Mary Perkins – BCA Patron
Monica is an outstanding, passionate and dedicated animal lover who has given over 20 years of her life to help people who find sick, injured and especially orphaned animals. She has volunteered her caring nature with two charities and given so much of her time, money and sleep to help prevent the suffering of others. She has gone way beyond what the majority of people would do to help save the lives of our local wildlife found by the local public.
‘Monica became ill in 2012 and regrettably this cannot be cured. She is receiving chemotherapy for some quality of life, but we as a community would like to honour her and say a huge thank you for all she has done’
Her passion and dedication to helping people who find sick, injured and orphaned animals has been outstanding Endless sleepless nights feeding orphaned wildlife through the day and night on top of trying to hold down a paid job too. Monica continued this dedication until the end of 2014 when her illness became more serious.
The Community would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Monica. She was nominated by the founder of the Charity who himself was decorated with an MBE, but he knows it is the selfless giving of others which enables the charity to succeed. He personally would welcome her recognition for the unstinting help she has given.
