STANLEY TAYLOR, BCAc
Lancashire

Stanley Taylor BCAc receiving his Medal from Lonnie Mayne, President of InMoment

A former professional athlete and one time sixth-ranked in the world for middle distance running ā€“ Stan now at 78 years old, still spends four nights a week coaching young athletes and adults. At weekends he is either time-keeping or officiating at events. Dedicated to his sport, Stan has coached runners who have progressed to compete at county, regional and even national level. He is a committee member of the local running club and has been secretary for the past 20 years.

Following a successful Athletic career based in Manchester, Stan continued to support his club. A number of the Athletes at the training events showed talent and a good work ethic, but with no direction. At this point in 1971 Stan started coaching. Whilst having many successful athletes at all levels, Stan is most happy when an Athlete with an average ability manages to improve to win at County level.

Perseverance got Stan to his own international level, so he always applies the same principles when coaching. He is committed to enabling young and old alike to benefit from the health aspects of running for fun, as well as helping those with a real talent for the sport to achieve the best they can.

With over three training sessions per week and at least twelve Athletes per session Stan has helped and inspired thousands of people over many years. He has been coaching athletes for over four decades and has dedicated his whole life to athletics.
