Tim Low BCAe receiving his Medal from Professor Andrew Graves

Tim for the last 16 years has made a huge contribution to the education of young people and their families in Solihull. He has enabled thousands of young people to access live music-making and take part in a huge array of music and cultural experiences they would have otherwise never known.

Tim has led and managed a Music Service which provides a wide range of musical opportunities for all children, whatever their age, background or experience. What makes the service so special is its inclusive and positive ethos which Tim has created.

Tim has seen how thousands of children and young people have developed a wide range of musical and transferable skills and have learned respect for others and themselves. His vision and sense of purpose is clear through his total commitment to young people and to schools. He remains determined to find different ways to engage children and teachers in music and to ensure that opportunities continue to be available.

Tim works long hours and is always found at the centre, smiling and finding solutions to any problems which arise. He makes sure he is available to staff, schools, the young people and parents. He is tireless in his passion and drive for music education and ensuring it is available to all young people.
