Athony Ebbutt is a former pub landlord from Staffordshire who has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity while caring for his mother and two brothers during their battle with Huntington’s Disease
Anthony, has organised numerous fundraisers for a number of good causes over a thirty-year period. But it was the death of his close friend Ray Mason, aged just 45, in 2008 which saw Anthony step up his fundraising efforts organising an annual memorial golf day which raised more than £13,000 for the British Heart Foundation.Ray died suddenly from heart failure and it affected Tony deeply, after he had also seen his wife suffer from heart disease and have to undergo a double heart bypass just a few years before.
His nominator said: “Tony is a pillar of the community and most people locally have heard of him and think very highly of him. His numerous selfless acts, community work and projects throughout his life has made him a role model to many, and positively changed lives for lots of people.”
