DR HARJINDER KAUR, BCAe
Dr Harjinder Kaur for the last 15 years has been committed to ending gender inequality and preventing violence against woman and girls in both the UK and internationally. She has an extensive record of community and professional engagement and been a Board Director and Advisor to several NGOs and charities such as Women’s Aid, Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), UN Women, MenEngage Alliance, and the GREAT Initiative Great Men Advisory Panel. To raise awareness, she also shares her knowledge and experience through writing, lecturing, and presenting.
DVIP work with perpetrators and victims, Harjinder provided strategic and technical expertise to help end the cycle of abuse and support the recovery of women and children affected. She also volunteered with Women’s Aid in Kent as a researcher and refuge worker tirelessly providing emotional and practical support to the women and girls that entered the refuge.
In Africa and Asia, she volunteered with international NGO’s to end violence against women and girls and engage men and boys in gender equality. She was hugely successful in delivering pioneering training for men and boys, with women reporting seeing a positive change in attitudes and behaviour.
