Graham has been actively involved in community activity and is a “truly selfless and genuine man”. A long-serving volunteer of with Save the Children Fund, he is currently involved with the local Ledsham & Manor Action Group. He has been an elected independent councillor for 23 years, 31 years fundraising with Save the Children, 17 years serving the community, overall 50 years of Public Service. He is articulate and able to motivate people from different walks of life, and has recently appeared as spokesperson for the group on radio, TV and in the media. He successfully led a campaign against a local housing development. And following his recovery from Prostate Cancer successfully fended off their appeal.

During his 31 years with Save the Children Fund his leadership and organisational skills assisted local communities in raising many thousands of pounds. He held various roles and twice represented volunteers at National Committee level chaired by HRH The Princess Royal, and only stood down when he relocated to Cheshire. Those impacted by his public service number in the 1000s and his work for Save the Children raised over £100,000
