HENDERSON MOORE, BCAc
Henderson (or Henny as he prefers to be called) set up the ACE Club 36 years ago for adults with special needs and disabilities. Henny calls it ‘A Special Club for Special People’. There are weekly Disco’s and he also arranges special parties for occasions such as Bonfire Night, Halloween and Christmas, also giving out Christmas presents. Henny arranges day trip outings for all the club members, taking them to places of interest and education.
Henny also arranged funds for a large static caravan with wheelchair access, which is located at Presthaven Sands in North Wales. Club members use this for holidays, and he runs this service with his team of enthusiastic volunteers. Henny also runs many fundraising activities to support the club.
The club is accessible to people with special needs from all around the area, the Wirral, Cheshire and North Wales. There are no other clubs like this locally and it gives users an opportunity to experience a social life, reduce isolation and a forum to meet friends and enjoy themselves.
Henny has been running Ace for 36 years and clearly enjoys giving back to people in his community and he is dedicated to keep Ace going for as long as possible.
