LINDA MCLEOD, BCAv
Although Linda suffers herself from COPD Emphysema she still works tirelessly to raise awareness of lung disease. She visits groups and gives talks on the work of the British Lung Foundation and Breathe Easy Groups, having been involved with Breathe Easy since 2010. It is because of Linda’s commitment that Clackmannan County Health Centre has a TeleHealth Pulmonary Rehabilitation Unit – a televised link from the Royal Hospital at Larbert meaning patients do not have the travel the 26-mile journey twice a week for their vital Pulmonary rehab.
Through Linda’s efforts Breathe Easy have donated nebulisers and pulse oximeters to all the Health Centres in Clackmanannshire, and Oximeters to the local Rapid Response Ambulance team. Linda is also responsible for the NHS Forth Valley hiring a ‘tobacco control officer’, and she sits on the Cross-Party Group on Tobacco & Health at Scottish Parliament.
Her voice is heard at the highest level on matters of Plain Packaging and Smoking Ban in Cars when a child or children under 18 is present, which came into force in 2016.
