Zoe Clark-Coates, BCAh

Zoe Clark-Coates BCAh receiving her Medal from Alison Eddy, Regional Managing Partner, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors

In less than four years Zoe has transformed the image and perception of baby loss support charities in the UK, and has revolutionised what exists for those who have experienced such losses.

By creating the Mariposa Trust, with its four distinct themes of: ‘Saying Goodbye’; ‘Waiting for You’; ‘Growing You’; and, ‘Holding Hope’, Zoe has transformed the support available for anyone who has experienced loss at any stage of pregnancy, or who may be going through IVF or the adoption process.

Zoe works tirelessly to give those in need the support she did not receive and works closely with the NHS to improve services and lobby government for changes to policy.

Zoe envisaged, and went on to create, the First National Remembrance events in the UK for infant loss. 62 Ser vices have been held so far, with another 21 scheduled for 2016. This allows Mums and Dads and their extended families to come together and formally grieve. These Remembrance events are provided at no cost to the individual themselves.

Zoe has been instrumental in supporting thousands of other women and families and is the lynchpin of this charity that supports over 50,000 people. Zoe built a team of volunteers to promote events, fundraise and support families. The service has filled a gap in the support field and allowed people the chance to grieve.
